The Six Nations is coming and we’ve got some trophy-worthy themed coffee recipes for you to try at home with our Rugby Six Pack.
Coffee and rugby?
Our director of coffee is a very passionate rugby fan. So we gave him a tough task: source six fantastic coffees for six teams with hints of the countries’ signature desserts. He’s smashed the brief.
Below (and with your coffees) you’ll find recipes to enhance the natural flavours of them even more, no matter who you’re rooting for.
A very English strawberries and cream coffee
Make your coffee taste like strawberries and cream using the wonderful natural flavours of speciality coffee, plus a splash of luxury. This coffee uses Zapote Natural. Brew it as a long black with a dash of cream or whole milk to make the flavours really sing.
It’s a bit grey out this rugby season, so if you’re supporting England in the six nations it’s a great one to sip on and think about Summer.
Welsh cake macchiato, anyone?
Our Casa Loma has notes of sugar-dusted, curranty Welsh cakes which are best complemented by a macchiato.
Firstly, make your espresso. Then you steam and froth your milk of choice. It’s best to froth whole milk for its high fat content but if you’re going dairy free, the best milk to use is a barista edition oat milk. Remember to steam it first before frothing, or warm it up on the stovetop if you don’t have a steamer.
Then spoon off the foam on top and put it on top of the espresso.
A biscuity shortbread coffee for Scotland
Our Terras Altas celebrates the Scottish rugby team with its hints of millionaire’s shortbread.
Making filter coffee can feel a bit routine, so why not put an indulgent twist on it for the tournament ahead? Simply add a dash of condensed milk and you’re good to go.
