We’re very proud to announce that, after years of rigorous assessment, Pact Coffee is now a certified B Corporation. We join companies such as Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s and The Body Shop.

The B Corp movement was founded with the belief that the economic system is not currently meeting its enormous promise to create positive impact, and that it instead has significant negative influence on the world.

The solution for its non-profit founding body, B Lab, is an inclusive, equitable and regenerative economic system for all people and the planet.

B Corp companies are a community of businesses that meet high standards of social and environmental impact. Each of these is counted among those shifting the economic system from something that prioritises a few to something that benefits all.

To gain this certification, we had to score at least 80 from 200 points against five areas of impact: Governance, Community, Workers, Environment and Customers.

This isn’t the end – assessments are redone every three years to ensure B Corps consistently meet B Lab’s ever-improving standards, and we’ll be constantly held to account to make sure we’re operating in a sustainable way and doing right by you, our customers, our colleagues and the farmers we work with.

Our CEO, Paul Turton, said:

“First of all, I want to thank the team at Pact who personally invested many, many hours so that we could achieve this prestigious certification. It really is an extremely involved and rigorous process impacting the entire business.

We’ve been a mission led, ethics-first company from day one, with the work we do with farmers in 10 countries, paying a premium for the incredible beans we source and developing lasting relationships as we continue to grow.

This year we have also focused on our impact closer to home, for example making our roastery carbon-neutral. B Corps are the businesses making a real difference in the current climate, and we have wanted to be part of this movement for a very long time. This is a very proud day for us”.
